i'm thinking of go 1UZ-FE and a 80 series auto box  and i would like to go with 80 series diffs as well (but i dont think the diffs will fit and i dont want to make custom guards for it)

i know that 60 series diffs do fit and you dont have to make custom guards for them

but are the 60 series diffs up to the job of running front & rear diffs all the time :?:

any help on what diffs to run

2 differences in the 80 series and 60 series diffs, well 3. width (80 series diffs are wider than 60 series, and 60 series is wider than 40 series) to get 60 series diffs under a 40 i think you have to either outboard the springs, or notch the housing to seat the spring perch, as the pumpkin sits where the springs need to mount..

The CV's are bigger in 80 series diffs.

80 series diffs have a high pinion, 8 inch reverse cut ring gear, which some say is weaker.

i think well looked after 60 series axles could run full time. locking hubs were optional on early 40 series, so the diffs would always be spinning when moving
