gday stu,
i put a 1.6 injected vit motor in my 95 maruti and yes it needed new
mounts on both sides. the passengers side was just a modified original
but the drivers was a total custom as it needed to be forward by about 3".
this is if you us a sierra gearbox using the standard maruti mounts
It's the one on the right, Dammit !!!

I put a 1.3 in a 95 Maruty, had a donor WT chassis, cut the mount's of the chassis and rewelded them into the maruti in the same position, engineer did not have a problem with that and was real easy.

thanks guys

on the RHS we used a bit of 20x 75 flat 230mm long, CSK for the bolts to the chassis, and then drilled and tapped the 2 holes for the original Chassis to bush plate.

on the LHS we used a bit of 100x10 flat 130mm long, drilled the plate for the chassis holes and then set up the original chassis to bush plate and welded it to the plate.

the reason we used such thick plate was to get motor position right.
