Am seriously thinking of getting one for the 80 as looks like insurance isn't gunna fix it!! (hole nother story)

I have to replace my front diff housing, trailing arms and panhard rods anyway after an accident so I figure I might as well have a look at doing it....
I do and its a big jobbie a done mine with all straight control arms and kept a 240mm vertical distance between the upper and lower control arms so the diff dosen't twist too much under braking torque. I put 360' rotators on all my adjustable control arms as it helps to be able to adjust caster to get the handling right. Mine handles real good concidering i have over 12 travel in the front and the cornering just takes some getting used to.

put the front control arm's on top of the diff, allowing
correct castor(no plates or corection bushes, just standard
factory 1's) allow's room for thicker moly steering rod's.

As the cruisers do have an extra bolt hole at the top and its just a matter of makin a plate to suit

I'd say listen to Mannell, have a think about running the arms on top of the housing this is a good mod on 80s.
dont throw the old mounts in the bin, you reuse them im pretty sure.
wouldnt say flex would change as its the housings resistance to twist that stops the articulation. it just doesnt have anything lower than the housing.
personally id stick with the radius arms. more stable at speeds.
flex is overrated. especially if it causes engineers to kick up a fuss and stuff you around.

Talked to Sam and it sounds a hole lot easier than the five link and I still want it to be driveable on road so it looks like the way to go...
