Does anyone know what the diff ratios for a 94 pajero diesel and petrol are?
GQ 4.2 Turbo Diesel, 4" spring, 2" body, 35" ET2's...etc

Ok :-

91-95 3.0 V6 = 4.625 or 4.875
94-99 2.8TDI = 4.90
94-99 3.5 V6 = 4.636
The 2.8 & 3.5 diffs are interchangeable the 3.0 V6 has a smaller rear diff.

Out of curiosity, how are the two 3.0 diff ratios "distributed"? My SWB has the 4.875, and I recall that most LWB models have the 4.625. Did the GL N/A Diesel have the same rear diff as the 3.0 SWB?

For the NH :-
3.0 V6 / 2.5 TDI swb & lwb GLS = 4.875
3.0 V6 GLX = 4.625
2.5 TDI GLX = 4.875
2.6 / 2.5 TD GL = 4.875
For the NJ :-
3.0 V6 GL / GLX / GLS lwb = 4.625
3.0 V6 swb GLS = 4.875
2.8 diesel GL = 4.875
All of these models had the 9" rear diff.

Does anybody know diff ratio and size for '94 2.8TDI SWB A/T (V26, Japanese spec) ?
I found conflicting data-it is either 4.900 or 4.636.
It would be also great to know rear diff size and shaft diameter. Is it 30.5mm or 35mm?

Hi Mike, I checked my Japanese CAPS programme and no wonder you are confused.
There are 3 x swb 2.8 TDI's listed :-

- V26C (swb canvas top) = 4.90 diffs
- V26W (swb metal top) = 4.636 diffs
- V26WG (swb metal top, wide body) = 4.636 diffs

Both the 4.636 & 4.90 diffs are 9.5" rear and run the larger axles 33.5mm.

Many thanks for taking a look!
Now its clear but I am getting metal top anyway-sometimes it's quite cold here. :D
That's great that it uses larger diff & axles, because I plan to run 35s for a while without any drivetrain mods until I can afford SAS.
