Like us suckers that are stuck in the extraction state (NSW) and can't copy it.

mudtoy wrote: With the technology we have (can afford) we can't even fit three shows on a DVD without considerably lowering the quality.

This is a bit surprising as anyone with a home PC and a burner can get 45min of video on a 80min cd let alone a DVD :?:

Nnnnnnoooooooooooooooooo

mudtoy wrote: $25 wouldn't even cover the postage.

Actually it only cost me $1.95 to post a CD from Sydney to Melbourne
or $5 registered overnight and good blank DVD are about for less than $2.

Now before the flaming starts.... How long do the winch challenge DVD run for at $37 to $40 each? 90min DVDs would be more attractive but then again so would diff locks for $300 :D

The Outback challenge DVD for 2004 is 3 hours and $49.50. But there are significant differences between this and 4x4TV. Firstly 4x4tv is made for television. Mudtoy has stated that he has to buy air time in QLD and that he is not covering his costs. Therefore he is providing the services in QLD and Vic for free. However, in the areas that cannot get the service, he wants to make a profit by selling it on DVD. My limited understanding of the arrangements with Channel 31 in Vic is that it is a community station and the people putting on shows are not allowed to make a profit. I can get movies on DVD from the market for movies that haven't even reach the theatres yet for $5 and these people are making a profit from copying the DVDs. I have indicated that $25 for 2 shows (which contain a lot of official and unofficial adverts) is not appealing to myself. I was therefore curious as to how many people that it did appeal to, but it would appear that they are not prepared to supply the number they have sold.

If I remember to watch the show I do, most of the time I do not. The shows I watch are as entertaining as the trip reports at the 4wd club, but I am not upset if I miss it. If the producers of this show get something out of doing it, then I am more than happy for them. I just cannot understand them whinging about having to do it. If they don't like it, don't do it.

P76, there I go again...what are you talking about, there were two of us doing it but I wanted to do it my way. What bullshit have you been listening to OR what rock have you been hiding under. The facts have been discussed on threads in here months ago. But there you go again jumping with limited information.
And why shouldn't I be defensive, we have busted our arses so that the industry has this forum. Your the sorry sucker who is bithchen like a babe. The DVDs are too pricy...don't buy them, you don't like the show, don't watch it...but don't shit can us for having a go and don't throw bullshit when you don't know the facts.
There is nothing wrong with some constructive criticism, we have worn plenty of that and some justly so but I make no apologies for not putting up with shite being stuck down our necks by those with no idea.
And FYI 4x4TV has been banned in most states.
Thanks to all who continue to support the show.

Mudtoy, how about reading my postings rather than reading between the lines. My limited information came from your ex partner. Don't try that holyer than thow rubbish. You do the show for your own reasons. Get a life and stop bagging anyone that has some comment about your show. Yes you have some supportors on this forum, but there are a lot of other people out there. When I have canned your show. I have only canned your critism of others. I will now stop watching your show. Even though I have said time and time again that I find it entertaining, put the person producing it is obviously and idiot. Your a legend in your own mind.

...and would make good footage possum hunter...unfortunately it may fuel the anti bull bar/4wd push.
Thanks again p76 for the classy feedback. Not surprisingly most who have listened to the lies of the ex partner have now contacted us and apologised for not chasing up the other side of the story. It shouldn't take too much of a basic intellect to comprehend the reasons why 4x4 TV was banned by both the industry and the community TV stations and 4wd TV has been massively supported.
Your lack of tact and knowledge has had a positive effect though, as it has raised some important issues with the DVDs. We will be looking at quicker, better and cheaper ways of producing them. Thanks for that.

Simon you do need to deal with criticism a little better. By running a product in the public market place you have to realise that people will have opinions good or bad. How you take that on defines your product alot of times more so than the actual product. We are all hoping that 4WD Tv continues and continues as a quality show and can do so with feedback by the viewers. If you feel you are being attacked either rise above it and respond with a positive slant to it or ignore it. keep up the good work

Oops! I reckon mine was as clear as day!

Great episode! The gembrook segment was very well filmed, and edited.
Pity we couldn't have had footage from the saturday night drive.

Keep up the good work guys!

The number plate issue is a bugger. Some one I did not want to talk to caught the first show and recognised the number plate and called me up to rip into me. So I fixed that and changed my plates. :P

Thanks again for all the support guys...it makes a HUGE difference.

Congratulations to Patrolman as he filmed the Gembrook stuff with a few inserts from young Mike as well. I just spent a few hours editting it.

Jambo is looking good but the action special is looking wild.

quick question.....

Why are the interviews all on speed. It looks like the editing more than the one asking the questions, but it comes acroos like an inquisition more than a friendly chat.

I understand the time constraints etc, but the interviews all seem very lifeless and dull.

Other than that, the show is great!

Cheers Mudtoy - Luke did a cool job of filming me and Davidh under the lines and having fun...

For anyone else - If I haven't been hassled to date about my car - having number plates up on 31 aint going to make it quicker to get to me!!!

Cheers to a cool show and the fact its covering all sorts of stuff - not just soft c0ck stuff that Grimace bowsers wanna watch!!!!!

Hope everyone liked the 80 in action!! and dave's Disco looked cool as having a crack at the tyre test!!!!
