I had one and had 2 probs with it during about 5 years
1. crunched bad in and out of gear = syncro fixed cheapishly
2. got jammed in OD and could not disengage = rooted couldn't afford to fix it. gutted.
Apparently under the 'high torque loads' (in a BJ??? ) you got to be careful as the OD units arent really thaaaat strong and reckon should NOT use in low range or 1st and 2nd, tempting and wonderful as it is.
If it is poppsing out of gear then hopefully it would be a minor fix but would go easy on it and see what happens when you treat it good . I gave mine a fair hammering and would not be surprised if thats what killed it
What brand is the OD?
You may find a good gearbox/trans mechanic who can fix it. . .
Marks Adaptors might be able to help too but their product may be different to yours (?)
Sry cant offer useful help...
