Lux front diff problems???

Post by Macca177 »

Ok heres the go.

Broke passeneger side cv. Pulled both cv's out as im guna be replacing them shortly with better than standard(thats not the problem)

problem was when doin the drivers side nuts up on the bearings... it feels like its grinding at a certain point on rotation of the hub and disc. It seems to becomin loose becasue i checked it a week or so after but it seems ok now(maybe didnt do it up tight enough in the 1st place). have only done all the seals and bearrings earlyer this year. When chaning the bearings we had trouble gettin the inner bearing in.(had to sand the disc a small amount)

Im thinking i maybe in need of a new hub attachemnt to the discs?
Maybe even a new knucle spindle or disc as well?
and if i do change all this ... do u need to do it to the passenegr side as well ?

any ideas on wot the next step should be?

Pull apart check and replace bearings?
and replace the above mentioned?

as i havnt had cv's in for a while theres alot of diff oil flotain in the knucles anyway so i best do all the seals again ?

or have i no clue wots going on
Cheers, Hayden!

it sounds like your inner seals are gone. also in regards to bearing nut coming loose, did you put the retainer washer in between the two locking nuts and fold over the ends?
