Not sure if you will need new ones or not. But if you do, a cheap fix is put the rears on the front (I may have this arse about). And buy a new one for the other end. Last time I prcied them they where $30 for rubber or $60 for braided S/S.

Im running 3 inch dobinsons and all i did was undo the bolt that hols the line to th diff and gently bend it up about 1 inch and made a bracket to hold it there. this is on a lwb gq and works fine. Shane.....

I lifted our 97 Gq lwb 3" and what i did on the front was unbolted the bracket that holds the flexible line up the top and extended it 1 1/2" then put it all back together. Saves running the risk of getting something stuck between the diff and brake line and ending up with no brakes. Going to do the same on the back but havnt managed to pull it yet. There is plenty of the metal line there to allow this mod.

I run Dobinson 3.5 inch heavy duty Gu fronts and same GQ rears in my 97LWB wagon with 30mm spring packers.
I don't need new diff breathers or brakelines as mine all reach. Even at full flex, and it flexes really well too.

so with 4.5 inches of lift your breathers and brake lines are long enough !!
I think the first time both front wheels come off the ground at the same time ,as in lauching up a steep hill... You might find you have no front brakes ...... Just a tip .

Agreed. I cant see why one would justify not spending an extra 50-100 to make their 4x4 a little safer offroad.
Anything can happen when brake lines are stretched - as they get old.. the stretching wears out and they start to crack and prolly snap off.
Simple as puttin the rear brake line at the front and gettin a new rear one made up.

When the wheels were off and front diff dropped, at full stretch when I was putting the coils and spacers in (without shocks), they still weren't particularly tight.
Anyway, may not be a bad thing to lengthen them but........

Thanks for all the advice guys.
Extended the brake lines. The safety issue convinced me.
Bought a new line for the the back and as turps suggested I tried the old rear line on the front. The old rear gave me all the extra length I needed Works Great
Only cost $50 all up.
