the mog had a snatch strap with the rest of the team hanging off it to help out, though i'm willing to bet $1000 that the mog could drive it without a strap or stacking if tony had more than 2.30 mins or whatever it was to complete the last stage.

dave also looked like he went fawkin close to driving it, but backed out to let scott try and finish.

NSW people need to learn how to use the accelerator pedal and not the winch :finger:

i think the jeeps were lucky they were up the list in driving order a bit cos as the day went on the bog got worse and the holes deeper and they werent too ashamed to winch.......

Actually Craig and I drove the bog hole quite late in the day, about 3 or 4 trucks before they filled it in with rocks and logs. Yes it was hard, but drive-able. That's not to say that I thought it was a good idea that they put a mud bog in this year.

The winches are there to use :finger: If you want a winchless event, that's what Nissan Trials is for. Not that I thought there was any shame in pulling out the cable to get up Jackhammer, which was the only place it was pulled for me.

It was a top event at any rate. Great fun all round :D

Whilts on the subject of the boghole, how crazy was that guy in the grey twincab gq ute thing who deflected off his teammates stuck MQ wagon to stop him rolling into the thing? My mate got it on his phone video, so if we can get it on PC ill try to post it up somewhere.

Almost as mad as bee bee's attempt at pushing 83 lux up jackhammer! :D I was waiting for the officials to red flag that effort, but it was cool.

Another thing, and a little off subject too, how mad are the little RC crawlers? I WANT ONE!

Oh and im pissed that i missed the mogrover, i had to go coz one of my mates got a little bit of heatstroke. :x

Sorry boyes but there was no parmies there, there was a couple that were at the high end of snitzels but no parmies

Best part of the weekend for me was out drinking Hypo and keeping him up untill 4am :D and the weak bitch started snoring next to the fire  The pore fella wasn`t game enough to go to bed early after what I did at Nissan Trials :D

Scotty if you`re tired dude you need to learn to sleep when you blink ;) as you went to bed early as on Saturday night  . Between Friday night and Saturday night I had 5hrs sleep and drove to and from Sydney and went water skiing for the 1st time in 2 years.

Anyway I spoke to Tony last night and then this moring on the phone and gave my congrats, just wishing he had his drive earlier as I just couldnat wait around anylonger to be bale to watch like I wanted to :bad-words:

Yeh that one, was kinda amusing in a sadistic way to see him jump out of his car when he got it stuck and have a little tism. Chucked his helmet and all.

It sounded like the engine had bit of a drink. So i dont think the guard is his greatest concern. But in a way it serves him right for not running a snorkel or canvas across the front. That hole was pretty deep!

Mate I was awake again at 6.30am, I was around all day untill about 3pm. I wasn`t hungover at all yesterday, just bloody hot  and my ankel was killing me  I think chasing that fox  did more damage to it then water skiing did to start with.

There was some very yummy chicks around but they were NOT parmies. parmies are the freaks of nature that should have a licence to walk around, they are above the top end of the scale and calling parmie on a chick is a farking big call. I have a pic of one of the ones that was at the top end of snitzel

Hot, Tired, just walked in the door, after driving for 15+ hours.

Drove Jackhammer with assistance from a strap and 6 guys pulling. Watch the video. I dont think the result would have been much different had they not pulled on the strap. The choice was there for every team to do what we did. Everyone else winched. I said i was not going to winch JackHammer. If it took 3 goes and i DNFed then that was the way it would have ended. Im not knocking anyone for winching i just prefer not to unless im broken or on my roof :D

When i watched Darren Blackburn run around the course i thought for sure he had the trophy in the bag because the mog is Big Heavy and not realy easy to move fast and i thought there was no way i could drive these courses at that kind of pace.

When i started i had no intention of beating Darrens time but when i came out of the first section and was told it was the fastest run of the day to that point it was on  By the time i was at the holding gate after the second course i was at 6.01min and i knew darrens run was in the 9min area so i had to finish in less than 2min wether i winched or not if i wanted to win. My mind was made up at the start line that i was not winching. I got to the bottom of JackHammer and when i looked up im pretty sure i could see a pioneer ashphelt machine just leaving. My Team had placed every rock they could in every hole they could find and it realy looked like a highway up there. Scott hooked the snatch strap on the front before running to the top to join the others. Greg stood to the side and spotted for me(not that i was actually listening to his advisesorry Greg) All i could see was the top.
The Mog was running like a busted ass and kept fueling up. Thats why it stops part way up in the video. I just slipped the clutch a little and run it to about 5K and popped it. It just went straight up. To me CV rock felt like more of an obstical. It was a combination of the guys on the strap the rocks packed in the right places and last but not least a very Strong Vehicle.

As for the skid steering we have been doing this for nearly 2 years now some guys need to get with the times :D

The Event was awsome the organisation and officials i could not find a fault with it. The track was unreal and i will be back next year.

And the guys that having a cry about the Water/Mud. THIS WASNT ROCKCRAWLING it WAS AN ALLTERAIN EVENT! From my experiances mud and water is pretty normal in an allterain event. Personaly i would have prefered to drive the water before the rocks were placed in it but this wasnt my decision.

I would like to thank the On All 4s 4WD Club for organising the event, Dargle Gardens Ski park for holding the event, Sam Overton of Haultech Engineering for letting me abuse his rig once again, Wes Clifford for Spotting for me again, all of my Logan Districts Team members for paving and pulling for me, all the spectators that came to watch as these events realy cant run without you. And my sponsors Haultech Engineering, And ARB Southside if it wasnt for both of thes Companies i couldnt have made this trip happen.

Last but not Forgotten the TLCC Recovery Team, I know you guys get a hard time from most people but if it wasnt you guys putting your hand up to do recoveries then who is going to do it? You guys done a great job with very little thanks. If you guys ever want to do some recovery work at events in SE/QLD or Northern NSW let me know as we will be on the look out for some reliable groups to help us out in the near future.

Thanks Guys i will be back later on im going to catch up on some sleep :?

Tony
First of all let me say congrats on a good drive.
BUT
I think you need to stop playing with yourself, seriously i would like to see you drive jackhammer pass with no rock stacking and no strap....
Anyone could drive a hill climb that has had every possible holed filled in with rocks and then the assistance of 6 guys pulling on a strap.

Just my opinion.

Tony, i have no control over the names, 4wd links automatically gives each movie/pic a filename when it gets uploaded to the site, and it just uses that 3 letter setup like you said. on my computer they're called 'woodpecker' etc. but yeah, i can't do anything about it

 like i said, $1000 that the mog could drive it totally unassisted if there was more than 30 seconds to do it in.

and guts, were you hanging round the porti-potties with that scottish bloke all day? is that why none of us saw ya? :finger:
