Getting the 5pd gearbox and transfer case aswell. Then either run the rear drive shaft at a funny angle. Or fit GQ axles.

To the best of my knowledge, to join it to a MQ gearbox, would all be custom.

would it not be easier and probably cheaper in long run to buy a GQ?

for all the hassle, wouldnt a Chev implant be better? say 383 or 350?

yeh TD42 conversion would involve the GQ box and transfer as well with associated driveshaft angles.

You would have to make custom gearbox mounts, Modify ur floor pan to fit the gear shifters, new engine mounts, new radiator plus mounts all new feul and electrics and wiring.

much smarter to either go V8, buy a GQ.

Upgrade to a GQ diesel, much better option
leave the CHEV to the '0' mile per galloners, if you want to travel this great land.

Dellow sells a kit for a GM 6.2/6.5L v8 diesel mated to a Nissan Cabstar 5spd tranny. The GM motor tuned and modded right will rock big time....Cabstar tranny is supposed to be bomb proof. Together I would rather have this combo in any P-troll over the TD42 or any big block or small block petrol v8.

Simply put...I don't think you can get much better than a correctly tuned/fitted 6.5L GM diesel and a Cabstar 5spd. That is of course if you want a diesel & m/t...

For you it is probably not worth it. But for someone local maybe, it needs a new input shaft and gear cluster  Gearbox guy quoted me about $1400 to fix, has a Dellow V8 bellhousing adaptor with it.
