Its one of the guys I wheeled with at Moab. He is connected with Spidertrax. A swing waya arm attached to the chassis with a rubber bush. It allows lots of flex but it isn't as progressive as a leaf is. It is a quicker and neater way of getting a 3/4 setup on a wide track as you can mount the arm outboard of the chassis.

Hmm that’s strange grimbo as that photo is from 2000-2001 moab, you were most probably their when it was taken! Yes that rig is fairly bolt on spider trax. The rear is a swing away ¾ rear and coil front.

only problem with a hinged pivoty thingy is you would loose alot of roll stiffnes in the rear end
