Rancho rs9000 for coily.

Post by muppet_man67 »

Im thinking of using these shocks for a 3 inch lift on the coily as Ive been told that the front spring mount can be welded to the rs9000 series. Snake raceing advertise rancho shocks for coils but im unsure whether this is front and rear or rear only and whether the front would cost more due to the extra work required. What springs are recomended for a lift of this size?

Thanks, help appreciated especially from the boards vendors.

For rear use 99119

and for the front you can use 99117 if you weld on the seat

your best bet is to pm mud4b about the ranchos for the front end or even overkill

but ring up king springs and nicely ask for 3 inch lifted coils ;) as the dont have them off the shelf

Based on the awfully soft valving they have I would go with 99009 allround, but I think you wil have major issues with the shock binding into the shock tower on the front. I have done HEAPS of measuring with Paul G's car.

PS 99009's are eye bottom and pin top and have about 10"- 10.75" of travel. I don't recall exactly, but I have them onthe back of my G.

Very interested in what you wrote here.....

So you have these shocks running on a coily? Pics?

I am about to increase the diameter of the front shock tower will I then be able to fit the 99009?

Did you change the mounting setup in the rear to mount pin to eye shocks?

Any other issues e.g. constantly bottoming the shock out?

Thanks

The shock tower on the front could use some trimming. I cant see why this would be a biggy. it looks to be simply a tube. if you cut it shorter then you will have more clearange due to a better angle.
