Suzuki 4inch lovells springs

Post by WiKiD*ZoOk »

I was just flicking through the march 2004 edition of australia 4wd mothly and in the driver profile section there is a write up on KARLY DROMEY'S 1989 suzuki sierra. Fitted with 3inch body lift, arb bullbar 32inch mongrels etc. and a set of "4inch lovells Springs"

The question is what are these springs like??? Do they Flex much or are they like calmini Hard as a F**king rock??? She is running OME shocks would these be the same as people run with 2.5inch lifted OME springs?? If so wouldnt the shockies stop the flexing of the Springs??? If they Flex at all??? Any Information much apreciated.

So they are pretty much posers springs. If the lovells springs were as you say i was thinking of droping the spring mounts and inch or so and have enxtended shackels with 2 inch lifted springs body lift and trim the guards to fit resonable sized tyres. Anyone see any problems with this setup???

Seems like so.

What tyres are you thinking of running?

That setup sounds fine for around 31's.

I am running 31's with 2" spring and 1" shackle. Looking at BL or cutting to solve some rubbing.

cheers

I was thinking 30-31 but depends if my dad eggs me on to put 33's on it, then ill have to get cuttin probably!!! :D Just another question How much are OME 2inch lifted springs and howm much are a set of shockies to match the travel??? i was thinking of going cheap assed and get one from the wreckers (sigma shockies have been mentioned somewhere) Did you have to have entended breaklines??? how much?? Mainly the price of the srpings is important!!! Thanks

with a 2 inch spring lift and a 2inch body lift, you would fit 33's with a little bit of hammer work

the car dosnt need to sit way above the tyres,

Your in QLD? Is this going to be a trailer queen cause there is no way in buggery you will get away with 33" in QLD on the road. I get enough shit with just 31" on. Also 33" plus 4" of lift equals somehting like 7" lift which would be very very scary on road in a zook.

me thinks they were around 300'n somthing a pair :?
rears cost more than fronts :?:

the ranchos should be ok, if there 2"
more lift = less flex generaly, unless u take some leavs out, but then u loose the lift anyway :)

here's an idea, call OME :D
my springs cost me around $600 for fronts and rears, maybe a lil more, less than $700 tho. rears are more expensive

don't know anything 'bout the rancho springs, but i looked into rancho shocks... couldn't find anything that'd be long enuf or compress enuf without relocating the shock mounts. (not hard to do really, but i'm kinda doin temporary stuff til i work out what exactly what i'm doin :D )

With the rockcrawler springs there is 2 types... there is the cheap ones (which r shit) and the more exy ones which r made in aus and r good..

We put a set of the cheaper ones in my mates zook and it leaned 40 mm to the drives side.

Sent em bac and got the more expensive set and it has been all good since..

He is happy with them..

As for flex they flex ok...
