I want to put a 454 in my 60 series cause i can get one for the same price as 350 so im wondering why not ?
My question is what are some of the pros and cons of doing this and how much mucking around will it be to get it in regarding engine bay size ?

yeah i didnt mention that , i was hoping standard drive train would work , 5 speed with 36's or 37's ,lockers and some careful throttle and clutch use..

I've seen an 80 series with a 400ci chev in it, with
the standard auto (had it beefed up). Shit it went hard :twisted:

I have seen for sale some time ago a 60 series with a big block, had a GM auto 400 i think (only 3 speed ?)
Not much help but i know its been done.

iv seen one doing 100kph push the foot down and light them up standard 5 speed it must have been fun :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: go for it u can never have enough power

a mates got a 454 with twin gas research carbs in a 75 tray running 35s. its wicked. std 5 spd. he used to have a 383 in it but dropped the 454 in while hes rebuilding it. i asked him what he thought was better and he recons his small blocks better. so hes gonna go a 383 straight petrol.

60s have a wider chassis than a 75, so it should go in easy enough.

i still prefer small blocks.

400 is a small block.
74 FJ40, 307, Hilux DBC, 35 Claws, welded rear.
