front diff is pI55 weak - tha's about it - aside form it being a 5 stud pattern.

Oh and they are a wide bus - good for barging tracks!

They're a good rig inside and ride wise, but my mates one is on its third front diff. It did the front diff again yesterday.

What is the story with the front diffs on these things, like I said my mates one has done three now! So why are they so weak????

heres a few possibilities....ratio is lower than 80 series, meaning more torque can be transmitted through the gears and it can go bang easier...than the 80 series which used thesame weak diff centre.
100 is heavier....bigger c/v's, same old ctr...weak spot.
Interesting comment by an older racer...he said he used to put Warn hubs in his racers because they blew b4 the c/v....might be worth considering on a 105 :-)

The front diff on the 80 is the rear high pinion front the rear of Forerunners.

They are very weak in reverse and that is the weak link. Try not to dump the clutch in reverse and you'll be fine...

touch wood - mine has had no issues in the 100,000 that I've been abusing mine!!! I run Aisin hubs and don't have a locker - seems to deal with the 37's fine!!

The one my mate did was very weak, we were on a slippery slope (sliding down the track), cut a long story short he needed to back up a few feet, put it in reverse, put his foot down and it just spun slightly and went bang, I was standing about twenty feet away watching and couldn't beleive it.
