MMM 3.5 is just not going to cut it mate! Get rid of it and go bigger! This is my opinion anyway. To get it rebuilt by the pros you might as well put the money towards a larger motor that may have a few k's on the clock.

Its really all about the buget! UNFORTUNATELY!

I've got a 4.6 with 3.5 heads that I pulled out to fit a diesel.

I hope to get me hands on a 4.2 stroker block off a bloke in our club, but if that fails I wouldn't mind getting a 4.0 block. I'm not after all out power just some more revs and a bit more grunt.

After owning a Rangie with a 3.9 EFI I forgot how gutless the old 3.5 carby is :!:

Bush 65 were you selling your 4.6 and if so is it still okay or needing an overhaul. What are you after for it.
Sorry to change the topic guys.

The 4.6 is for sale. Was running fine before I pulled it.

I swapped to a diesel to prepare rangie for long trips CSR etc. The poor fuel economy of the carbureted 4.6 and other advantages of diesel were why I changed.

The 4.6 was a new high compression, short motor that I bought from John Davis. It has a Dynotec cam, duplex roller timing chain, Bosh scorcher dual point dissy, extractors, Edelbrock performer inlet manifold, Quadrajet carbie and gear reduction starter. 3.5 heads were reconditioned before fitting to the short motor.

Motor has done about 40,000 km. Asking $2700 - location Swansea (south of Newcastle).
