Mav Clutch replacement
Mav Clutch replacement
The clutch in my Mav appears to be on its way out. Can't seem to adjust it to fix the problem. What replacement clutch's do people put in.
Specs: '88 Mav SWB, TB42 petrol.
Currently on 31x10.5 MTr's - Next week, 36x12.5 Centerpedes for bush so clutch will not handle these of playing up on 31's

I use Daikin safari tuff. Only had to replace one when zI oiled it with a leaky rear main. Lots of comp guys use it as well. Can't seem to fault it running 37's, 4.88 and shit loads of torque. Allow $500 ish supply only

I know of some who said his is slipping and its only a safari turbo intercooled TD42. But they where talking about one with alot more clamping force.
Up around 1000kg of force compared to, the safari tuff which which is 600kg. Hopefully Juzza will respond as thats where this info came from (ok it was via sparky). Cost was about $900 though.

I used a PBR from Repco. $400 for parts including throughout. Best price I could find and I did a lot of shopping around. If pedal pressure is related to clamping pressure, it must be ok as its noticealby heavier than the original clutch.
Prick of a job. I would take the engine out instead of the grearbox next time for sure. But I hope there isnt a next time.
