Joe, there's 48 competitors in the almost final list. We generally accept more entries after the closing date, so if you're still thinking about entering then send your entry form & cheque asap. Don't wait too long cause I start printing the route notes in early Feb.

I have received the confirmation e-mail to say we are in. Woohoo The start/camp is Frenchman's Creek Camp so we will be in the Big River/Marysville area as rumoured. Looks like everyone that entered from our club got in
We are starting 35th, the highest we have started so far. How do they work out the starting order I guess it just means we'll have more fun overtaking others throughout the Challenge
It also looks like they are going to run the 1st stage time in an unfair way again and give one cut-off time for all regardless of what time you started. Looks like we will be penalised 35 mins before we even leave the start line

Good luck all. If you're going up on Friday night make sure that you book your accommodation as quickly as you can. You're going to need a good sleep.
Just to make sure that it's clear and to save our Officials getting too many phone calls....each competitor will have their own finish time for each section. Your individual finish time for each section is fixed, so you'll need to manage your time.
The first car will get notes at 10:01am and are given up to 9:01am on Sunday to finish, the last car starts at 10:49am and finish at 9:49am Sunday.
We expect the entire event to finish by 10:00am Sunday, but from our experience most will probably finish between 7am to 9am.

Alberto. This is a much better and fairer way to run the section cut & run times than last year. Thanks for clearing this up

Hey hey, numer 17. Hmmm 2 in my radar ahead of me - Ears is driving my Hilux in 3 so if he knows what's good for him he'd wait till I pass him and then there's Rog in 2 (Old driving partner) - he can make that yellow rangie pretty wide. Not that it's a race at all ..... but it sure feels good to be out in front.
Re CCDA affiliation with VAFWDC - there is no affiliation for insurance. Not sure if we did it but spoke about CCDA joining VAFWDC as a corporate member and VAFWDC joing CCDA as corporate member too. But even if we did CCDA does not pay VAFWDC insurance per member and is not signing up as a club. Therefore don't count on CCDA as your 4WD club.
If you filled out CCDA form at a Nav Run or Nav Nite you should be in as all are passed to Roger Smith quickly. If you are not sure give me a call at Pro Comp 03 9705 6677 and I will follow up for you.

Lockee -- UR the one in front of me for exactly 1 minute. Moonnee is 1 minute behind me for exactly 24 hours...

It appears the Hilux has just got a hell of a lot wider and slower. Little bit cocky I think. I hope its hot and dry cos the lux has air con and Hobzee doesn't so he'll be sucking my dust for quite a while I think. Also the lux handles better in the fast stuff.

If you feel the occasional tug at the back of the vehicle that will be me attached to the rear of your GQ via a very strong strap strugeling to keep control of my truck. Please dont brake suddenly as my reflexes arent real good.
