Second Aircon Comp Placement

Post by sootygu »

I have a GU 4.2TDI and was hoping some one would have pictures of the fittment of a second aircon compressor. Have been looking but there is not a lot of room, was thinking that the left side is the best area.

Is this on a TD42?
And is it possible to get some bigger pics of the set up. As the ones posted are tiny as.
I was going to fit mine in the usual spot between the A/c and alt. But since the A/c would need to be lowered a touch I would be hitting the PTO winch shaft. So drivers side would be sweet.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....

Thats a GU mount. On GQ orig A/C bracket doesnt allow the left leg to fit.
Mount goes from RH engine mount to LH AC mount. GU has a flat face for left hand bracket to sit on.
Ive tried to work one out but didnt get the right Brain wave.
If someone else does Ill have another go.

I'm interested in some larger pics too please.

Did you buy this mount or did you make it? If bought, where from and $$$ please?

It's an interesting idea, never thought of that.

Cheers. :D

thats right bazzle but i only had the dimensions to go from. To the diagram i had i raised the compressor about 20mm cut the flat face off of the bracket for the ac side, then welded 2 tabs to the ac bracket itself and then bolted trough
