In regards to my zook losing oil from the box due to no seal, there must be a way to modify the selector hole to stop this problem. I know im not the only one.
I dont want to change the box for a later one either, has anyone modded their early zook box to eradicate this problem?
Also does anyone know if its possible to drill and tap a second breather into the top of the box? Then i could just fabricate a quick seal for the selector.

what do you mean by second breather? the breather is via the gear shifter i thought. I'm going to install a proper breather more forward of the stick and seal off the selector as much as posible allowing the box to breather whilst going up hill instead of the heated oil trying to escape through the insufficent breather/gearshift. i believe this should if nothing more slow the oil exiting by heaps . in Caterpillar dozers you find it near impossible to remove the hydraulic filler cap (when hot) without oil spewing out everywhere and it doesnt matter how slow you attemp to remove it , its just the only exit for the hot air and when the air tries to exit it vacuums the oil to go with it , simply because there is no breather on caterpillar hydraulic tanks . anyways sorry to ramble pn ill have mine done in about 2 to 3 weeks and ill let you know . i'd do it sooner but im doing a spring over this weekend .
if its worth doing do it intensly , better still do it with MADPASSION

when i said second breather, i actually meant, seal the selector up, and then drill and tap another breather elsewhere, i.e. further up on the box.
