is my steering box buggered??

Post by spamwell »

i have tightened the nut on top of the steering box as much as i can withoit forcing it to far and i can still turn the steering arm with my hands about a 1/4- a 1/3 turn in either direction untill there is any resistance? . It is pretty sloppy while driving.

I dunno what can you do to fix this if adjusting doesn't work

Replace it :D

I replaced my box the other week. It was sloppy too but got replaced cause it started leaking. The difference it made surprised me.

I filled my steer box with 50/50 oil and grease.
It lasts a lot longer, and doesnt leak so easily.
I have no idea if its a wise thing, or not, but it werked fer me.
