3" Body Lift

Post by mrp69 »

Just saw a 3" BL kit for a TJ wrangler on 4wd.com just wondering if you guys know what the effect of running a kit of this size on a TJ would be? It looks like a pretty straight forward install so not sure if it would cause damage to the jeep?

Just have to look at what else raises when the body will. Sometimes 2" is ok with not much other mods to be done, but get it checked first.

Pavlo, are you still going to run ya 4 inch coils as well as a 3 inch body lift. Going that high is probably only recomended if ya plan to increase the track width and run some pretty big tyres. Otherwise you are just making to car more unstable without really gaining much. The 4 inch lift will allow you to run 33's at least (at a guesss im not a h33p freak) which will be a massive improvement on the stockers.

I have fitted extended coil type lift kits to TJs, they tend to be the pits.
I have done 1 Rubicon long arm kit, 5.5 inch lift, no body lift runs 35" MT
Baja Claws, no problem. Took off the rear antisway bar completely as it was unnessacery, quite often don't connect the front antisway up for short trips, still drives ok.
