Build a tuff truck in 3 weeks

Post by SAWZALL »

Well, now that I am officially in tuff truck I suppose I (We) should build one. I wanna have it on the road in three weeks so that I can have a few weeks to iron out any bugs...Oh and get in some practice too.

The plan is to spend this week doing what I can at home and then towing it to Overkill for the remaining two weeks to finish it....well that is the plan

I only have to:
Extend w/base
Replace diffs
SAS
roll cage
twin transfer
Protection
winch mount
flares

Yesterday I cut the back off it and today did some work on the rear "tray". Tommorow, Im off to the bank for a loan.

Pics to come...Once I figure how to shrink them

Any Newy guys interested in a working bee....

Cant see a problem with those mods...

Thanx for all the offers (both here and PM)

Today pulled the dash out and removed some unwanted weight. Started on front spring mounts and did some more to the rear end

Id much prefer to replace the transfer with a Sierra one but I dont know whether I can get the gearing low enough....

Go to a tyre shop. this size is most common on light trucks (front), and i believe hilux or cruiser run them standard?

If you want larger get some 825 truck tyres. I fitted some to my zook a year ago and it looked super Grimace! :?

I have an old split rim, and a normal rim (early landcruiser) both have 750 tyres on (I think will have to confirm), similarly, will need to check how much tyre is left on em.

If your interested in them, and after I reconfirm what they are, your welcome to take them.

PM me if your interested and we'll go from there.

Cheers,

Drewfus
