80 series brake pads

Post by g35me »

just finished replacing the front brake pads in my 80 series. I didnt play close enough attention to which way I put them in and was wondering if those little metal clips at the bottom of the pad were meant to be in a certain direction. What the hell do those metal clips do anyway?

Thanks.

They are a wear indicator. They are set slightly above the metal backing plate and when the pads wear down to this point they rub on the disc and make a noise so you know it's pad replacement time again. They are riveted to the backing plate.
