Post by outlandy »

Does anyone know about these wonderfull things and how to modify my 60 series to stop it locking up when I dont want it too. I know it is quite a simple mod on same year patrols but I cant get any info on Cruisers.

Where do I get a copy of the electrical diagram? My Gregorys book has detailed schematics but nothing that goes down to the gearbox level.

What year is your 60 - I just looked in my Factory 60 / 70 service manual but it doesn't include mention of Lock-Up torque converter. My manual may be too early for it.

My 60 is actually a 62 and is a 89 model and has 4 speed auto plus lock up in fourth. I need to stop it doing it for towing and hilly terrain ;)

by unlocking your torque converter while carrying a big load you will build alot of heat which destroys auto's

alot of the heat comes from the torque converter when it not locked up

alot of people get a switch to lock it up while in third etc
