WE Rock - Round 2 - Bathurst NSW 18/19 June

Post by Strange Rover »

The next WE Rock event is going to be held 35km from Bathurst NSW on the 18th-19th June. This event is going to be jointly run by WE Rock and Overkill Engineering. Sam Keck has always had plans to hold events on this property and with WE Rock wanting a venue closer to Sydney Im really glad that we can make it happen this way.

Now we know that there are a few guys down there that have got buggies or are building buggies that will suit this type of event. So if there was ever one event that you guys should try to aim for to get there and compete then this is definitely the event. Again we will run just the one class and we will be reasonably lenient on vehicle specs. The courses will again be fairly sensible (as in we wont be putting lots of vehicles on there roofs) so for a first competition this will be a good one. After this comp we will really start to push things along in terms of the difficulty of the obstacles because by the time next year comes along we want to be in touch with the US guys.

For this event we want to run 5 courses per day all at the same time(instead of the last events where we ran one course at a time). So what this means is that we need volunteers to become course judges. At the very least we need 5 in total and better yet we will need 10. So if you are keen to become involved with this then post up here or PM me. If you are keen to help in any other way then again post up here of PM me. This event is going to be held a long way from where I live so basically the more help I can get the better.

The 3rd round will be in Victora and the finals should be held at Milbrodale (the current Tuff Truck site). For the finals we are getting the US course designer out here to do the courses and Im going to compete :D. When this guy get here we really need to be on up to a decent level, so like I say, if any of you guys want an easy first competition to start off with then Round 2 is the competition cause its going to progress really fast from here.

With the feed back that we have gotten from the first round at rover park I think we are well on the way to really get this sport happening in a big way.

Awesome News!!!

Looking forward to this one. New Buggy is getting under way (sort of) and trying to get it ready before TTC so it can go on display at the Haultech Stand.

So who else is ready for this one!

Also Sam, will tech be at the site or in Bathurst, i think it would be awesome for tech to take place in Main Street Bathurst, all the local Rev heads would love it, and it would certainly draw attention to our Motorsport. (we could even do a few hot laps of mount panorama  )

Can't wait!

Where can I find info on the rules, categories and possibly see some pics of the previous sounds? :)

Is it more of a buggy orientated event, or are there classes for production vehicles?

Classes - Combined Super Modified and Legends (one class)

That and the promo picture kinda indicate it's a buggy thing. If not though, I'd be keen to add this to the list of comps for this year.
