Hi guys, i've recently purchased a '97 tdi auto, and i want to fit a rear locker. I've put in a 2" lift and am running 225/75 BFG a/t's. I am not planning on going up much more in diameter until these boots are knackered, will probably stay pretty standard....and i don't drive with a heavy right foot. Would an ARB airlocker be ok with standard axles etc, as i'm not really into rockhopping, and on limited budget(aren't we all?)....any thoughs and suggestions would be appreciated.

serg, I've already got an ARB compressor. What do m/d use for actuation, is it vacuum or solenoid or would the compressor be needed?? Can anyone give me an idea of the cost for a rear m/d?? Ta Chris.
If you're not rock hoppin then I may just have the rear end for you...
It's a Quaife torque biased LSD, and driveshafts/flanges
Fully automatic no compressors etc and bomb proof.
Costs $2100 new I'm looking for offers around $1000

dave, sounds tempting, but i think i'd prefer a full locker in the rear....i'm familiar with the ARB from mates cars, i was just concerned whether my stock axles would be up to it or not. (can anyone tell me whether my axles are the better ones or the weak ones???)
McNamara do an air locker for the Rover. I've got one in the front and have been very impressed. I think a rear setup would be similar in price to an ARB considering you already have the air compressor.

i can recommend the MAXI DRIVE however the Jac Mac may work out cheaper if you have already got the compressor
