what ratios are standard??

where the diff ratios different in a 75 series ute from a 2H moter to the 1HZ. im asking for a friend who has changed the engine from a 2H to a 1HZ and now says the ratios feel wrong??? its a 1987 model if that makes it clearer. i know nothing about toyotas cause i drive a decent truck..... :finger:

thanks for the flaming, and thanks to those who gave me answers too........i dunno what hes on about now......i think i might tell him to just put a turbo on it. what other options does he have. he just reckons its too slow....... :roll: i told him to get a patrol, but he wont listen..... :finger:

He probably just thought that he would be getting an amazing boost in performance going from the 2h to the 1hz and now is disappointed. He should be getting more speed out of each gear though as the 1hz has more of a rev range than the old 2h.

not to mention a stack more torque at any given point through the rev range - if the 1HZ is not significantly outperforming the 2H there is something gay going on.

They are all 4.11:1.
4.1 is only in the 80ser
Gearbox ratio's are all the same as well.
It's probably cause the 1Hz will actually rev harder than the 2H.
I'm not stuck I'm over here!
