no inner guards

im looking at cutting the front inner guards off my fj40 for looks mainly is there a reason not to do this apart from getting crap flicked up at the engine from the wheels ???
i thought id seen someones 40 with no inner guards but ive looked today and cant find anything on this

BTW i chopped out mine but replaced them straight away with conveyor belt rubber ... i only chopped them to fit shocks not for the REALLY COOL look

hmmm your reasons are mmmmm yes definately go for it
BUT if your interested .. ive spoken to a few guys with fibreglass flip front ends and they regretted it , didnt flip far enough .
as for the more air flow i agree but it isnt worth the damage done to the electrics IE starter motor .... more airflow out of the engine bay doesnt help unless you can get more air in the front .
i made up a couple of vent ducts on the front (will take pics and post later)
dont get me wrong ........ not knocking your ideas , just make sure you have access to belt rubber or simillar cause you will need it after your first winter / mud run

i like being different
my main reason is that ive gotta pull it all apart to straighten it and rebolt it together you see my truck was rolled at 80kmph thats why its now mine and all i did was bash the front end into shape to get it legal and now its really starting to fall apart so im thinkin that while its all off the truck it would be a good time to do some mods
owell ill see what happens as tomorrow progresses lol

didnt end up removing the whole lot but removed a section the brackets that go fron the iner guard to the chassi dont line up so i just trimmed them off so it looks normal front end is still solid just hope it stays that way
photos tomorrow and i realised that i forgot to locktite all the bolts WAAAAAAAAAAA gotta loosen them all off and add some locktite to everything
