finalised the fuel tank position and mounts. also the rear shock mount and shocks in position. the battery goes behind the shocks on that flat plate, that way there's a little bit of weight over the rear axle. the fuel tank is sunken as much as i can between the chassis, without it fouling the track bar on full conpression. now thats all done i can finish of the back of my cage.

also removed the dash and pulled out a heap of unused wiring.
Does anyone have any pics of custom dashes in zooks. I doubt i'll put my original back in as its a pain.

made some half doors the other day. the top of the door is capped with sheet metal but i'm thinking of putting a rubber strip on top of that so that it doesn't get too hot in the sun.

I just got Tumut Hydraulics to make me a set of custom PS hoses for $120, pretty reasonable, included fittings and stuff. Workmanship is first class.
i'll either get the hydraulics van to come out and hook it up for me. this'll probally be the easiest way, but not the cheapest. I've also got a mate who works for a forestry contractor, he may be able to do the hoses for me on the cheap
sierrajim wrote:that's coming along well, i must say that's some whacky rear shackle angle. How do you go with up travel?
i'm not really sure how its gonna go once i get it out in the bush. guess i'll just have to wait and see. but here's a pic during some testing, i wish i'd taken a photo from the side but for some reason didn't. the shackles apear to working allright.

the hydro kiss ass. i've only driven it around a little and up and down the road. but its well worth it.
i'll get some more photos once everythings in properly. just waiting on my front diff back from sam, then i'll be back in 4wd for the anzac weekend's wheeling and testing.
from the little bit that i've played with it, it is so different to my old little rig. it feels really stable and so far climbs like anything even in 2wd. hydro is interesting driving on the road. can't wait to really give a good test.
here's a couple of flew pics on my junk pile
