2H oil pressure slow to rise when cold

Post by dibbz »

When I start the 2H the oil pressure takes a while to get up, unelss you rev it up around 1200-1500 the engine will stop, takes 2 or 3 starts from cold before the pressure rises and the engine stays running.

Is this a common thing with 2H's?

mate the old girls 2h is probly a bit tierd
same deal with mine along with low compression after 490000kms
if your rocker gear and bearings arnt flogged out you might want to check out the relef valves theres two I beleve
one around the oil filter housing the other you need to take the sump off best way to find out is to put a master gauge on and check the oil preasure
OR

keep a few revs up when you start her :!:

My 2H takes ages to get up the oil pressure up & I reckon if I had the engine management system hooked up it would shut the engine down. However I had a look at the mains & big end bearings a while back & plastigauged them & they were near perfect so I just don't worry about it anymore
