Okay, so this is my intrepretation - the vehicles must be registered to be allowed to compete. But they dont have to be in a registered condition to actually compete in the event.

as long as no one is expecting third party insurance tocoaver anything all should be OK.

SO the rule say it must be rigistered and enginneered in th estat it is registerd. This is how I percieve, it as has been posted here.
But the bit I am concernd about is the fair play. As some people will be really stretching there engineering alot. Why isnt there a note to the rules saying that the vehicle does not have to meet rule for tyre size or type (same for wheels). And all the other that people appear to be flaunting.
Also from what I have read here. Some people are not concerned with some part of the rules. But what about the bloke who follows the rule as they are written. Why should he be penalised for following the book.
As for insurance, I am going and I belive that I will be covered if I am injuryd I dont see the problem there. As for competitors there should be no concern there if there cages are built right.
They only people that I see that are likly to get hurt are marshalls standing to close to the track. When a competitor tries to drive an opstacle at full noise. And stuffs up (and this happens. All the winch events I have been to someone has done that and gone off the track).

Well I am personally done with this thread. I and a few others have raised some issues that should have been thrashed out at the first TTC a few years ago. Definitive answers were not forthcoming on this thread but I have received private correspondence from who I am not at Liberty to disclose, that satisfies me to a reasonable degree that whilst the promoters of TTC may be guilty of bullshit with their advertising re ''The Tuffest Registered Trucks '' etc, the insurance cover for the event is above board and valid. Perhaps next year to avoid similar controversy they will cut the ''registered ''crap, call a spade a spade and promote the event for what it really is.
In the interest of peace and harmony within the 4wd fraternity, I have no personal objection if the moderators and other board members agree to delete this entire thread.

I can see clearly what points you are raising and feel it is a pity others had to become emotional and defamatory towards anyone who doesn't see the world through the same rose coloured glasses as themselves.
We all want events like this to proceed as it will lift the level of both the sport, and the vehicles, and a rising tide raises all ships, BUT, common sense questions are surely allowed to be asked.

funny that everyone is complaining. the lack of enforcement on the paperwork side is only going to make for a better comp. last tuff truck one of the jeep guys from sydney wasn't allowed to compete because the latest revision of his engineering paperwork wasn't listed on the rego papers, pretty stupid really. this year you can just register a truck, build it into whatever you desire it to be, and race it. and that's how it should be.

But for a vehicle to legally wear a rego sticker it must be engineered for the requirements of that state. By saying the truck must have a rego sticker it is implying that the truck is legally registered and engineered. At least thats my view of the situation and might be bills view?? I think poeple are still stressing out far to much over this.
I've always viewed tuff trucks in the same light as v8 supercars. That is they are based on the original vehicle and modified, while still retaining the appearance of the original vehicle. If you look at how successfully this has helped the local v8 commo and falcon scene grow you might take the opinion that this could be benificial to the 4x4 scene aswell.
The real question that needs to be answered is when is WA going to get some high profile 4x4 events

In the last tuff truck, anyone who entered made it in, so your theory wouldn't work.
