GU centres will bolt into a GQ housing. Splines are the same (gq axle will fit into a GU to get you outta trouble). GU CV joints are about 2cm bigger than GQ. I have GQ locker in the front of a GU diff with one tiny mod.
Cheers

The crown gears are different. Can't remember which way around but one has a champhered edge and won't fit into the other housing. But other than that they are the same.

cool think I might have to chase a GU front then instead of playing with the GQ one.
Its easier than that....If you do that mod them you have to machine each axle you get to replace CV's to make a standard GU axle fit, when doing the mod there are 4 bolts in the GQ locker 2 short and 2 long where the axles slide in . the 2 longer ones stop the Gu axle change these and all will be good...
Im about to undertake this setup. So Ill keep you posted.
