LPG would be your friend.........

Unless late model I don't know how you got the 350 engineered without it...

You could always look for a clapped out wagon with LPG installed and transplant the 350 into it and keep the LPG for cheaper running..

A standard TB42 straight six is also a c*nt for fuel economy, so I too reckon you should look at getting LPG/dual fuel.

Fitting gas to the vehicle you've got could probably be managed fairly cheaply.

I have LPG on my 350 MQ hard top, and you will save a little money though you have more engine wear, less power if LPG/Petrol, will also it will run hotter.

I like the gas and mine, its set up for a straight gas arrangement, so it works for me, but I cant go wheeling around the country side, I have to worry about getting LPG every where I go, etc etc. You really have to way up the options.
If I had my time over again with a budget of say 14k, I would get a 3ltr patrol/ Mav, and turbo it from a VL etc also run an after market computer with 2 settings one for LPG the other for petrol. Something like that would be better for me.

Mines the 4.2 straight 6 petrol and it is terible on fuel economy. Around town it chews about 25L/100km on gas so on my 90L tank i would be lucky to get 350km, but when i fill up, it rarely goes over $35. People say to go diesel cause its more fuel efficient but you can't get it for less than $1.10/litre these days so i reckon the only way to run a 4wd cheap with a lot of power is with gas. I'm happy with my gas

Around town I get about 25 l/100km on petrol..so the fuel economy on LPG is hardly any worse....

I don't run my petrol around town. You're supposed to run petrol every now and then to lubricate the engine so whenever to do some offroading i just use petrol
