Power Steering Pump

Post by jessie_xa »

Hi All

After a lot of swearing and fiddling I managed to get a new engine mount in place as it was shot from all the fluid coming from the power steering. After cleaning the engine bay with a good degreaser, I thought I found the leak a couple days later and replaced to hose from the reserve to the pump. I cleaned the bay again only to find that it was leaking again. On inspection I could see that the fluid was coming out from the front of the pump then down the hole. (&*^%$#$%^&^$#) and some more.

Q. Can the power steering pump out of a 93RR (RR is 89 but motor is 93RR) be overhauled or as per LR a complete replacement part is required? (yes have gone through tech talk) The pump has two pullies on it a flat belt and a V belt.
Q. If the pump can be overhauled where in Brisbane can one buy a kit and/or seals.

Thanks
Jessie

I've found All Car Power Steering in Bowen Hills to be quite knowledgable about RR power steering. I've had them rebuild PAS boxes and pumps for me before.
