suzuki sierra 1.6l efi, any help?
suzuki sierra 1.6l efi, any help?
I want to fit a 1.6l efi motor to my 94 sierra. I know someone makes the adapter plate for this converstion? But who? And what price am I looking at, for a complete 1.6L EFI motor? I believe I may need a body lift for this too? Just some general info too, suzisport has a supercharger kit available for sierra and vitara. I wonder how it goes?

suzisport does a kit here
I got mine from the US (RRO-but I don't have any reason to recommend them)
many of the major suppliers in the US have one. here R some links
http://www.petroworks.com/

If I was doin mine again I'd use the Vit gearbox as well and just manufacture new mounts

Shouldn't need a lift to do the 1.6 conversion.... same block
have to modify the mounts a little to drop it down, and a tab on the bell housing from memory..
Graeme and the boys at suzisport springwood did mine... sweet as..
and yes the 1.6 is becoming a hard engine to find

Block is actually longer than the 1.3 so a body lift will help but I'm not sure if it's needed (I already had one)

Hey dude
Best person to speak to is suziworx. www.suziworx.com
They can get the adaptors and normally can get complete front cuts. I have done a few conversions up here with efi 1.6l engines and it is a really easy job to do. Should take no longer than a weekend to do it.
Dunno about using the vit gearbox though as i am running a turbo'd 1500 twin cam and only after years of getting driven very hard i have almost destroyed the gearbox.
I think in QLD doing a 2.0l vit motor is pretty hard to get engineered. There is something that says you cant go any bigger than a 1600 or 1800 but i cant remeber for sure. Do a search and see what you come up with.
Seeing you are in Townsville you should come out wheeling with us mad people. PM me and i will give you my mobile number as we go out nearly every second weekend!

Are you sure you dont meen taller ??
Still dont need a bodylift to do it though (unless its a 16V efi, as the the plenum needs a bodylift to clear unless you notch the chassis to clear the exhaust (as you need to mount the entire motor lower to get it to fit ..)
