Hi, I was wondering if this is the best battery choice to run a winch on
a single battery set up. Also is this a good price?

They are great Batteries but I would have some concerns regarding the amp/hr rating as to how much winch pull time you'll get from just one.
I sell the red tops for $305.00 (only 55amp/hr) & the yellow top for $345.00 (only 65amp/hr)
If you had to have just one battery to do every thing, I would go with the biggest & lowest resistance Absorbed Glass Matt type battery that you could fit under your bonnet, around 120amp/hr with a short circuit current capacity of 2790amps, costs $335.00.
Just my 2c's worth though!! Cheers.

Cool, I spent 2.5 hrs in Vic Range on Sunday trying to help to cars out that we stumbled accross. I got one out and when winching the second one, the winch died, it winches out but not in. I am suspecting the cableing that I used to extend the control box into the engine bay. Other than that it might be a solinoid

I would suspect the solenoid...That much winching can really cook em...blows the contacts apart. Im running two batts with a solenoid that I can turn on (by passes pirahna box) if I run out of grunt...but it sounds like you dont really need it.

Really? I only winched for 10-20 sec then had a 10 min break and then the second winch was 5 sec before it broke.
I rang a contact for Warn and he said to put self tapper through the base of the solinoids into the back plate of the control box to earth them a little better. No luck. Will call back this morning.
