are 80 series front coils a straight swap into a bundy?

if not what has to be adjusted?

I've heard two conflicting stories, one says yes big left, and the other is a no...

I've been no help but others should be able to clear it up.

I looked at a Bundy a couple of years back and the owner said it had stock 80s coils in it, so maybe they do...

Stock 80 series coils are cheap, or usually given away free..... why don't you try some ?

I believe you can fit front 80s coils into 70s rear, which gives 30-40mm of lift.

No solution for the front, though :cry:

for all tech about this message dumbdunce his bundy ran heaps of different setups using 80 series coils

long story short - 80s front coils will fit front and rear in a bundy, stock ones give approx 3" lift. there is lots of cheap stuff you can do to get bundy suspension working well. search!

Aren't 80 series coils larger in diameter than 70 front?
Does somebody have specs (length, wire diameter, coil diameter) for stock 80 series coil springs?

Standard 80 series coils- Length 475mm, Coil dia. 150mm, Wire dia. 15mm. Hope that helps

they do fit, mine is sitting in the driveway with them in, coils were cheap running standard in front and pedders standard height progressive rates in rear as dumbdunce suggested. When i spoke with the bloke at pedders he said that the early 80 series carby ones i think? coils were longer so got those for the rear but think the fronts are out of a newer 80, also got Koni shocks to match through through barry at top performance in VIC bundy is now bieng rebuilt as she rolled onto roof :armsup: after a broken diff on a steeeeep hill

the 80s front coils are about the same diameter as the bundy rears, but they also (just!) squeeze into the front mounts. the pigtail is the same on both sothe bottom perches fit well.

Looks like 80 coils are a "bit" higher than exprected, giving closer to 4" of lift!
Is it too much? Will I fall sideways easily? :armsup:

bunderas always fall sideways easily. fit wider tyres (12.5") on wider offset rims, and drive carefully!

if it helps... I measure my coils on my 70 series before i put new ones on.

Front: 445mm long, 15mm wire, 100mm diameter coil
Rear: 450mm long, 18mm wire, 85mm bottom/125mm top diameter
