As title suggests i have a 4.7L short motor and was wondering what it was worth. It started its life as a 3.9L and was bored and stroked. It has done about 200,000km and would probably need a rebuild.
Cheers
Rob

4.7L Short Motor, whats it worth?

Rob, these posts can only be opinions as there are few facts.
A brand new 4.6 cross bolt is now $3600 from Graeme Cooper.
A 200,000 KM 4.7 may/probably will need oversize pistons. are they available? I believe 4.7 usually has 20thou oversize , so the next probably would be the limit., if they can be obtained. Remember sales of these are now zero because of 4.6 availability.
You are probably talking regrind crank, bearings, pistons at least .
So I reckon from near zero if no pistions available to maybe $1000-1500 if pistons available, unless you find a wood duck who doesn't realize that the pistons are very non standard with higher gudgeon location.
