awsome weekend .
tracks were very good shane and nearly caught us out a few times .
a big thanks to karl who stepped in to navi me it was his first time and he did a great job .
the support for this comp is fantastic we were rapt with the turn out and the level of support shown by our sponsors is greatly appreciated .
congrats to geoff great effort to take first place and to sheety and blake in second was no surprise they are always up there .
you deserve all the accolades link for your first comp to draw no 1 start on sat tracks was a bummer but you and ian were up to the challenge and did a great job well done .
i didnt get a chance to see a lot of trophy class but what i did see was very entertaining and the spectators were going off .

its a BUMMER that at such a great event you can still get POOR LOSERS.

just because you have poured way more money into your trucks doesnt mean it will automatically beat a smaller truck that has spent way less than you....

YOU KNOW HOW YOU ARE...next time just walk over and look at the rego tag....

i thought this was meant to be a fun sport..... not a cutthroat one...

Well great weekend as usual!! :) :) :)

Did some damage though.......on the second track at the jump up at the end that I didn't get up I busted an end off my steering dampener, which I removed and threw away. Once I got onto the road again, I couldn't go over 40 km/h or the car would try and shake me out........lesson learnt- take spare dampener or remove when competing!! :P :P :P

It also appears my converted air conditioning compressor (Sanden SD-508) crapped itself. It took ages to pump up the last tyre, I ended up using my 12V compressor. Belt wheel very noisy........I'll get it checked.

On one of the stops on the way home to check stuff, I found the the rear air locker was still on (   ). I thought maybe the solenoid had crapped itself, so I cut it off at the solenoid end....no air escaped-------not good!!!! So I cut it at the diff end and it whooshed and disengaged. When I got home and checked it, it appears that when I fitted the sliders (at LCMP Friday arvo) I put one of the mount bolts on top of the chassis rail over the air line. On one of the tracks I obviously hit the slider and it clamped down on the line.

I've fitted a new dampener and its driveable again, but its getting a wheel alignment and all six wheels balanced tomorrow.

Despite the drama's, great weekend had by all my crew. Congrats to the organisers, volunteers and officials. Also congrats to the winners and to Linc as well for a great debut performance. Great to see a GQ wagon on 35's take it out, especially considering the competition from more purpose built machines. Well done guys.

I'm interested in finding out who the "poor sports" are from mud's perspective.....I have my own ideas    ...my navvy (Jethro) overheard one the other teams' members rejoicing over other cars' hitting hats and getting other penalties. Come on guys.....now really, we're not playing for sheep stations!!!! :x :x :x

Chris

Ta, I didn't realise that running without the dampener would do that...now I know though!! Appreciate the offer very much...will remember it in the future if I bust anything else.

I haven't busted a CV or axle or anything major yet, and plan on carrying spares in the future, but assistance and advice fitting it would be appreciated when it does it does occur.

That's the spirit that makes 4wd'ing really cool!!

I would like to THANK everyone that helped me and my wife out. Changing the tyres over on the Jeep etc so that she could follow me in the ambulance down to Cabolture. And thanks to my competitors that came to the homestead to see me off after our shootout was called abit short.

Is there any chance the points scored on the tracks could be listed beside the placing?

Still bummed that I didn't get to run Sunday, awesome that only one Jeep got in the top ten for trophy overall. :D

Bring on next round.
