hi i was wondering if it is posible to get a sprungover 60 series landcruiser regestered in Qld and what needs to be done to do so

going from spring under to spring over is modifying the suspension.
going from leaf springs to coil springs would be classified as re-engineering the suspension.
i know nothing abou this at all but found an article in a 4x4 monthly the other night that has a green f150 in it that it HUGE! im pretty sure it is sprung over, has massive rubber and is QLD registered, will post pics 2night when i have a chance to scan it

You wouldn't do it that way for this thing, you'd spend a crapload doing it, and get pulled straight away... After proving it a few times they would stop pulling you over as often.
The Shop he did security for was up the road from me... and he lived near my school...

I mentioned this vehicle to QLD transport when I was discussing spring overs with them (as the article had just come out) and their response was that they were aware of the article and were going to issue a notice to remedy on several issues associated with that vehicle (one of which was the SPOA).kranked_dirt wrote:NJ SWB wroteYeah thats the one that thing is huge! Does anyone know its wherabouts/status?
QT went on to say, as Heath correctly pointed out, that unless the suspension components were sourced from a vehicle that came with SPOA as OEM there was no way that they'd approve it.
As the conversation went on they admitted to a grey area in the case of a vehicle that had a legitimate registration in another state with an approved and engineered SPOA in that state and that registration was being tranferred to QLD. In this case they said they would "most likely" approve.
It doesn't have to make sense... it's the government.
