DGA Insurance brokers.

I think in Melbourne?

Insure for legal and engineered mods for anywhere in Aus, not just on roads.

Don't have there number at home tho....

I used to be with TCIS, but am now with Australian 4WD insurance from DGA and underwritten by CGU. TCIS is agreed value and more expensive and DGA is market value and cheaper.

Both company allow any mods..... which I assume must be legal and will cover you anywhere on the map of Aus.

(Please confirm all of this yourself!)

I'm currently in the process of organising insurance via the VAFWDC insurance company. Having the valuation on Friday, $8K for truck $12K for mods. I'll let you know how I go.

Not my experience  As long as the truck is pretty standard they'll talk but start swapping engines and what not

" Hi I'd like to know if my cover will be cancelled if I swap a fuel injected motor into my 4wd, it's the same size but from a later model"

"Will it make the car more powerful because we won't cover that "

I'm insured with racq and although i've only had it for a bit over 3 months they seem alright. They we're the cheapest for me and i asked about mod's and they said they insure up to a 4" lift and then i asked about a couple of other things like tyres and they said, if its legal they cover it as long as its recorded with them. I rang a couple of weeks ago to add my snorkel to my insurance policy "i've just added a safari snorkel to my car" "OK..........whats a snorkel?"

I'm with Australian 4wd Insurance. Insured for market value of the vehicle on or off road, anywhere in Australia except for time trialled comps.

I was with Just Car Ins. Crap agreed value but I got my wreck for $2k and kept the change... No hassles, no going to auctions.

They'll cover anything that is legal and roadworthy (I quote)

Australian 4wd Insurance is good ive had 2 cars writen off with them but i wont use then again because of the fact IAG (NRMA) has aquired CGU who are the ausi underwriters and will not let you buy the wreck back,my last pocily which was an old one they gave me market value on my last patrol which was more than the truck was bought for but fell 15K short on the the cost of the mods i was lucky i bought it back for a couple of grand plus the ballance and transfered the parts over . be careful they only give you 10% in return for the replacment cost of modifications

Got a question. How do I get a price for my mods.

I have a swb patrol with a 305 V8 in it. I did not put it in and dont have the means to put one in. How if my patrol was valued at say 10 - 11 g would I be able to get insurance to cover the mod. EG cost of motor and also labour to put it in? Do I have to get quotes or do I just estimate?

Cheers

unique car insurance - twice the agreed value of others, 1/2 the price of DGA..

but you only want them to pay out in the end.

Update - Had the truck valued today at Outback 4WD in Bayswater. $8K for the truck and $16K worth of accessories, $24K total. Using Affinity, the associations 4WD insurance, $660/yr, covered everywhere. I thought that was very good.
