Rock sliders!

Post by CHOPS1 »

Maybe there should be a thread on rock sliders since the front bar examples thread has changed to rock sliders!
I'm about to make some, so ideas, plans, styles would be great!

Spamwell has a great set up, anymore?

I wouldnt mount mine to the body after seeing what they did to bazooked's 4x4 when he put the side onto some rocks. It pushed the slider in and dented in under his door pretty bad, would have been worse though if he didnt have them.

I remeber I used to have (detailed) pics for the Shrockworks sliders (the one suz_rolly posted) and I posted them up on here somewhere but I can't find them. The pics showed how the sliders were made and it didn't look too hard to make.

Pretty simple, and they look great. Not to hard to copy.

having that piece of angle up there brings a bit of concern regarding rust etc.
might pay to seal those babies up witha tube o goop before bolting them on.

what do ppl do about that usually? nothing? sikaflex?
surely the mud and shit gets in and eats your sills..
