ive got a rn36 with 4inces of lift and will soon have 35 centerpides need more power in the bush help!

i would love a v8 cause i had 1 in my bj40 but i herd thay brake diffs so i was thinking a 22r cause thay bolt up to my gear box i dont really want to spend heaps so im not sure about 1500

Have just gone from 18R-22R and was a good move heaps more down low and will rev hard as well. Even better fuel economy on the highway is excellent. Rebuilt the engine and cost about $1200 with extractors.
Still only got 4cyl rego as well.

Pretty much went straight in same engine mounts old bellhousing and clutch. Exhaust is even on the same side. Fuel line -longer rubber hose.
I think it was good value for money compared to V6-V8 options. If you want more power you can then turbo it which will be my next step.
The 22R is easy to get A/C & P/S brackets to fit as well.

thanks mate il start looking for a motor did you buy a car and take all the stuff out or just buy the motor is yours efi or carby i think the toyota caronas have the 22r motors in them?

I got a complete engine only had to find a dizzy and coil igniter setup which is easy to wire up best would be to find a donor car should be cheap around melbourne.
