maxidrive or ARB air locker
whats the best and why for a rangie.run a auto locker with maxidrive axles down back.need to fix up the front.broke short inner again.maxidrive setup or arb and better axles.what do you think.
smooth rides with power
either jacmac lockers and axles or maxi drive locker and axles.
If have arb then fit either JM or maxi axles.
If fit a detroit or simiilar also fit above axles.

Maxi Drives all round, solve all your breakage issues. ARB's are also good but extras like upgraded axles, etc... can add up to almost the cost of a maxi, main reason I went that way
Had the rear one for 7 years (got that from one of the Rangies I had, kept it of course when I off-loaded that Rangie ). Finally got a front one this year now that I have a few more $$ in my pocket .
Off-road adventures can now be breakagge free, well almost The CV's are the next line in breakage

Strength:
Jacmac: has superior locking system and now has the option of air pressure.
Maxi: most popular and most well known upgrade for rovers.
ARB: will cost the same as the above once axles are included.

My rear takes about that but the front takes about 3-4 seconds once you unload it (the rear one is about 15 year old so I would assume that the splines that engage the locking dog are slightly twisted after copping abuse for this amount of time ).BIg StEvE wrote:
Shame about trying to turn for the next 10-20secs after u disengage a front maxi!
Go the air lockers with either brand of axles!
Your ARB air lockers will take a couple of seconds to do the same. Remember, it's under load and doesn't disengage straight away

If you are about to tackle an obstacle that may need the use of lockers then the compressor is on before you begin.trr35l wrote:twin maxi's with maxi axle love then no wait time for air pressure
I generally leave the compressor on anyway when on a track.
Either are good.
