Yes Dave and I judged on most stages.

NAM I am sorry to say you hit that low side cone on the way over. Tom came close to hitting it but spun his back around and just missed it. Don't know about the rear steer, that was Daves department on that stage.

yeah nam... your score you got was correct...you caught the cone on the ledge when you rolled it, and caught the cone on the left side second last gate at the rock where you were bellied out on, you also missed out on the bonus 5 points for the spotters strap as you had to touch the car to roll it back on its wheels......and yes adrian was the one who got negative 16 on that run..

also nam if i did write anything in the rear steer column it would have been at the end of the run when i was rushing to fill out the columns and get back to the next competitor in time.. and as you say i fixed it anyway...i prob just went to write something and then realised i put it in the wrong column..

if anyone has any queries about the scoring this is how it worked...

stopping...1 point
reversing...1 point
hitting a cone/gate...10 points
winching...30 points
rear steer....5 points
not using a spotters strap... neg 5 points
progress points(when you pass a gate)..... neg 1 point
and then their was the bonus gates which were worth
one ring on the cone...... neg 10 points
two rings on cone.....neg 20 points

this then added up to give you a total points for the run..

if you didnt complete the stage you were given 40 points minus how many gates you passed...penalties and bonus points only came into it if you completed the stage

so on stage two scoring on saturday where no one completed the obstacle the points were very close with only adrian and tom clearing three gates so they scored 37 points..almost everyone else cleared two gates and scored 38 or the ones who tried the bonus line and failed scored 39 as they only passed one gate... and the rollover king dave camp scored 40 as he didnt make the first gate...(sorry about jinksing you on that one dave)

Oh yea, I have to send out a MASSIVE thanks to Dave Camp and everyone else who helped us get off the site.

Dave went above and beyond to get my commodore through that mud run - without your help mate, I might still be there.

If you need any help to get to the VIC round, just let me know. If I can help in any way I most certainly will.

Same goes for the rest of the competitors. I know how hard it is to get to one of these events when they are a day away, so if you need any local help let us know.

Just wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate all involved in making this event possible, I had a top time and it was a pleasure to put faces to the names. A big thanks to Shane (Gigantor) for giving me the opportunity to be involved in the ORP coverage of the event. I know I am no Simon Christie (and those who spoke with me will vouch for that!), but it was fun just the same. You dont realise how good Simon is until you try to do what he does, he is a real pro!! But anyway, congrats to the organisers, a top job in difficult conditions, congrats to the competitors, espesially those I was fortunate enough to talk to, and a huge :armsup: to the spectators, a more committed bunch to the sport you will not find anywhere!

Firstly I really want to thank everybody that was there for this event, I think it really was a big step forward for the sport with lots of new competitors and spectators. Id especially like to thank Kate and Bec (better halves of Tony and Adrian) for their efforts and Dan and Dave for their course judging which allowed me to chase up stuff that i should have done before hand. Big thanks to Mick Garner for giving me a hand everywhere (and now if I could only convince him to do it all so I could compete ;) ). Really glad to have the whole Keck family on board on this one and thanks to Sam Keck for making this all happen - would have been impossible to make this all happen without them.

Im still learning lots about how to setup the courses and i tried to do a few things a bit differently. Some things worked well and some things didnt work so well but more on this later.

The drives that really stood out for me were-

Peter Antunac - incredible how competitive with such a massive machine. And it wasnt like he just crawled around everywhere - he really had to work hard. To me there was probably half a dozen times when I though he was going to roll. Amazing how Pete was able to use the rear steer to get the lined he needed. When Pete finally builds himself a buggy he is going to be very very hard to beat cause the fawker can drive.

NAM - loved the way he drove. Really effective and really entertaining. And would have a crack at anything. Probably the only person to use more throttle was Tom...

Tom - for showing us what pure hammer down throttle attacks can achieve. Tom was one of 2 rigs to drive the bonus line on A2 (second course down the gully on Saturday) and he also drive the straight shoot line up the double steped climb on A3 which again was only driven by one other (although a few other rigs completed the climb by realigning after taking the bottom cone)

Adrian - for showing us why moonbuggies are just so good. If his rig didnt play up so badly he would have probably won by over 60 points. If more of these things turn up then we will really have to split the classes into modified (front engined 2 seater) and super modified (everything else) cause this machine is just so much better at everything its not funny.

Tony - for his drive on the last bonus course - only competitor to complete the obstacle. And just thinking about it probably uses more throttle than Tom.

Shane - for bringing along the firetruck. Bloody awesome rig. Definately a wolf in sheeps clothing. And I love them dana 60s.

Cheezy - for clearing all the mud off the bonus climb on B2 and making it easier for everybody else.

I`d say chopped, why because of how little down the straight he was. The V8`s are only doing around 240 to 260 at that spot on the track and they have to get the exit of forest corner spot on to get that. Also remember at the end of the straight they are doing just under 300. I also think it would be reving higher then that at 220.

Just had another look at the pic and its further down the straight then I thought it was :oops: . At that spot the V8`s are at around the 280ish mark. But I still think that is a chopped pic. We drove around the track on Sunday arvo after werock. Also aren`t the new commo`s and falcons speed limited at around 160 or 180.

I think you`ll find that is a lower spec car as they are only the temp and fuel guages, most upish spec cars have oil press and volts as well.

thought so, and also VT V6 autos hit the limiter in top gear at 200k's

if you look close at the speedo you can see the actual speed and revs....the speed was just over 40km/h and the revs was just over 1000

Yes i agree, i would also like to see all the scores with a break down of each stage.

Also needs to be easily read.

Its good for everyone to see and is good for the teams to see so they can analise where they may have been able to pic up a few points etc etc.

Also i would like to see a topic made sticky regarding the Series points! :D :D
