does anyone know what could be wrong, my steering makes a klunk noise when it nears full lock either way and also as it comes back from full lock.

pretty sure you'll find its the springs moving sideways a little bit as the swivel hubs hit the stops the box pushes the whole axle and the springs slide on each other and hit the clamps which makes the CLUNK. Ive seen a couple of 75's do this just get a mate to turn the wheel while you have a look at the springs im pretty sure you'll find this is whats making the noise :D

if it is the springs making the noise , to fix it is to lift the rig up as too let the springs sit at full droop and wedge a screwdriver inbetween each leaf and smear grease in there
the noise most occurs after it has rained and the suspension gets wet
also may pay to check the tension of the u bolts too

after greasing the spring pack it will ride a bit smoother as the grease helps the springs to slide against one another

Yup, i agree with springs... My 60 does that too, Have jacked it up, loosened the springs, straightened and tightened, and was good for a few weeks, not back to where they started.

Looking at getting new springs sooner rather than later, so not really bothered by it...

Cheers

Put a dollop of grease on your steering stops.
