A mate with a GQ has bent one and is looking to replace them with better ones. Someone told him that if he goes too strong then it can place the stress further down the line. But being in the position they are and if one breaks the consequences, wouldnt it be better to have the strongest arms he can afford? Advice greatfully accepted.

All the aftermarket ones are very strong. I have the mal leslies ones on my shorty. They where on cheezy's mav before he got serious (well it still ran 39"tyres) and removed them, so they have coped alot of abuse and teh are still straight.

I've got some cheezy ones and they're much, much beefier than the stockies, I would recomend em, also slightly longer to suit 4 to 6 inch lift. I brought mine off someone from here, can't remember how much off the shelf, might have been around the $600 mark, someone might be able to correct me here?

ihave a gu and run 3rd's upper and lower arms love the shit i put them through :lol:

Slaming into rocks and bouncing on them has had no efect on them yet bar a few scratches :armsup: :armsup: :onfire:

brand new longer ones (16 mm) with supplying your own bushes from the old ones of brand new bushes costs $200 from cheezy.

Too rough a ride? Mog joints at both ends aren't always a good idea. You need to have some give in the suspension components or you'll break something. Having adjustable on the lower can creat problems as well sometimes if you bash them on a rock. Strong arms though. :D

Nah they 'clunk' as they take up the slack and it annoys me. A bit like when you tow a trailer and the trailer hitch moves on the ball.

If you buy the arms with no bushes , how hard is it to swap my ones into the new arms. My bushes are in good condition but worried I will destroy them trying to press them out.

A piece of 50mm nominal bore medium black tube will fit quit well without damaging your bushes. ;)

Can't remember where else I posted this but I get all my bushes for nothing from ARB here in Townsville They fit out new patrols and give me all the bushes that they keep for nothing. I just pick and choose which ones look the best. They are all fine cause they come out of new or near new vehicles. :D

yes genuine flex goo but f**k up easy wy would you tell him to use genuine after telling him how many you go through :?:

As sugested use super pro for flex and driveabilaty :roll:

You need to pay more attention to the posts if you want to sprook off like this. I didn't say how many I go through. If you haven't been through the members section in a while I've been changing setups on my GU cab chassis during the build, hence the change in bushes. The only bushes I've actually replaced because they were stuffed was the OME off set nolathane bushes that crapped out after only 5 months. I haven't had to change a rubber bush yet. ;)

I get the same with some custom arms I have. Can get very annoying.
Mine have a little nipple valve that you can spray aerosols in.
I tried WD40 to stop the squeaking, but now I am trying lithium spray grease to try and dampen the noise a bit.

i attended to mine before i bent one, i welded a piece of 25x25x5mm angle along the top and bottom of my arms, and then added a piece on 30x30mmx 5mm angle along the bottom, havent bent one yet and heaps cheaper than aftermarket ones

Not sure on there price as I brought mine 2nd hand. But I dont think they come with bushes. But from another current thread, I have found out these can be gotton for about $30-35 each.
The big chunky bushes from snake racing look pretty good, there $120 for a set of 4 Part no # SRNPRAB.
Bigpig has mentioned some but I dont have any details on those.

I could but then that would rotate the axle forwards slightly. Which would make the wheel closure to the front of the guard when flexing and as it is have a contact issue now and the front of the guard has already been trimmed. Where as the rear being straight metal no plastic crap. If it still touches there I will cut more off.
