RR Chasis brackets...

I have just been given a 1980 RR chassis that i am going to hack up for a project.

What are these brackes from?
Bodge leveller?
Swaybars?

Anything i dont need is going.

Well most of the stage 1 body etc will go into the Hybrid, the rest parted out. The rego will be transferred for the moment.

Will be engineered at some stage though

Yep :lol:

Chassis has a little bit of rust in the outriggers (fixable) but this is an awesome excuse to build something else.

Will be a slow build up, will make a thread when some of the welding begins as i have only just finished grinding all the outriggers off and cleaning the rest of the chassis.

It would be a shame to break up that nice ute, why not seel it and find another body/ engine - Landyman has an efi 3.5 going begging!

All $$$ factor.
Plus the ute is really my daily driver anyway, so it would need to find another car. If i can find another body cheap, that will probably be the way to go anyway.
It will be done on the cheap so to speak (well i hope :oops: )

Dave,

I will be watching this space with interest as CJ and I will be doing something similar after we finish restoring his County. Bits of Stage 1 Series 3 looking for something to bolt too. :D

What's in the keg? Or empty? :D

Have you cut off the rear trailing arm mounts?
If you have and it's in good condition, i'm after a nice straight one.

Having a shed cleanout this weekend. Will put any Rover stuff aside for you Dave.

Lots of bits and pieces that you might need in the build up after all my Rover projects.

It is a good idea to cut them off, move them forward and then weld them back on. Longer trailing arms flex better and put less stress on the bush. The A-arm ball joint if more of a limiting factor for flex but every bit helps.

Will only be running 2'' springs, may make new arms with a slight bend in them.
Not too worried about flex as i won't need heaps.
Still working out what to do with the rear as I will be using the sals, so pinion length is a problem. So either cut of coil brackets, mak custom arms and extend a frame to keep a stock shaft or cut down a standard shaft :?

what are you going to use this rig for?? you said you don't need heaps of flex... (flex isn't everything)

Will be good to see another rig like this around

I used all panels from my old Stage I on my project...must be the thing to do :armsup:
