hi all,

how much do the std S1 disco front towers need to be
cut for the 80series toyo shock's????

or does someone make custom ones??

I think its more of a case of how high do i need to lift to make 80series shocks work?
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

With 2"springs in my 110 and Rangie i have spaced the shock towers up 1" and have not had any problems using 80 series shocks :D

Depends, there is a long and standard version.

Possibly having to mod bump stops as well, depending on lift height.

LRA sells spacers for this. They go under the tower.

LRA did nt inform me of the spacers when i was quizzin them
about it.

I extended my towers
cut and inserted 75mm diam exhaust tube aprox 50mm longer.

work perfectly.

i used 25mm solid bar in 25mm lengths.
drilled through and tapped from both ends.
remove turrett, screw on spacer, replace turrett on spacers, use new grade 8 bolts to screw down turrett.
what i now do when we install shocks on any 4b is mark the full compressed length of the shock by compressing it then running a texta around the body.
i do this at full extension, then mark halfway as well.
this is an easy way to measure up for spacers or check bumpstop length.
just remember to leave an inch for bumpstop compression.

They have more travel.

Also make sure you check if the springs need retentions (depends on your springs) and you will need longer brake lines.

None, unless you want to use twin shocks.
